WESTBURY PARK FESTIVAL

The annual Westbury Park Festival provides an opportunity for the community to come together for a few weeks in the Summer to enjoy a varied range of events.

The 2019 Festival ran from 21st June until 6th July with sixteen events including an Art Fair, a film night, a Downs walk and the ever popular Open Gardens.  Most of the events were well attended, particularly the Nigel Walton Memorial Concert, the history walk and the quiz.

The Festival raised £660 for the two charities nominated by the Festival Committee – Little Hero and the National Association of Children of Alcoholics. A further £925 was raised for charities linked to Festival events (eg Marmalade Trust, Avon Riding Centre).

This was probably the most successful Festival for a number of years thanks to the volunteers who took on responsibility for organising individual events and to the many people who supported the events. Hopefully more volunteers will come forward in 2020 to bring new ideas and energy and to ensure that the Festival prospers.

A Festival was not held in 2020 because of the Covid - 19 lockdown
